I would like to see Aylesbury and the Vale offer the same high profile exhibiting, advancement and professional development opportunities for professional contemporary artists as our county neighbours of Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire do. Both of these counties have thriving artistic communities and continually exhibit art which is both engaging and challenging. With the future planned redevelopment of our area, I would hope that a new and fresh creative climate and outlook becomes integral to Aylesbury‘s regeneration and my aim is for awful/FANTASTIC! to play its part in that new climate.

Business Experience:

Alongside my fine art practice I have 26 years‘ business experience.

For the last 8 years I have worked as an IT Business Project Manager in Buckinghamshire which has involved, amongst other things, the creation of a customer service centre. I hope to bring my business skills, such as risk management and business strategy, to awful/FANTASTIC! thereby creating an exciting and sustainable art initiative.

My interest in developing awful/FANTASTIC! is to create an initiative that presents opportunities to exhibit fresh and contemporary art practice in Aylesbury Vale. As an artist I will certainly be submitting my own work alongside fellow artists to the selection committee.

I see awful/FANTASTIC! as an opportunity to satisfy my personal desire to utilise my many business skills together with my passion for making art.
